Covid Oral Care

In the wake of the recent pandemic, it is now more important than ever to ensure good health and well-being.

A good oral health care can take a step back in a stressful time.

The ADA recently found that half of Australia and don’t brush twice a day. And 83% don’t floss enough.

But don’t worry, did you know that 90% Dental problems are preventable. If this pandemic has taught us anything, it is to be more consistent with our Covid Oral Care routine and stay on top of our health.

How to Protect your Oral Health During COVID-19

Practice proper oral hygiene daily

  • Brush your teeth at least two times a day with a soft-bristled brush using fluoride toothpaste.
  • Floss daily. If you aren’t already doing so, floss at least once a day. Flosses can get into the space between the teeth and gums, removing much of the food and plaque that a toothbrush can’t.
  • Replace your toothbrush every 3 months or when bristles are worn or frayed.

Eat a healthy diet and limit sugar intake

The foods you eat and how often you eat them can affect your overall and dental health.

Proper nutrition means eating a balanced diet so that your body can get the nutrients needed for optimal health and wellness.

Try to avoid snacking in between meals as this can increase the rate of tooth decay by increasing acid production.

Avoid smoking

Smoking can lead to stains, gum disease, tooth loss, and in more severe cases mouth cancer.

Try to stress less

Yes, we know, this is easier said than done! It is natural during this time to be feeling elevated levels of anxiety and stress. This, however, can result in grinding of teeth, headaches and more.
