Dr Shady is a registered Oral Surgery Professional with a wealth of cross-cultural experience. After completing his Bachelor of Dental Medicine & Surgery degree at Ain Shams University in Egypt in 2007, he obtained Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2012.
He then went on to pursue a career in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) and obtained his Master’s degree in OMFS from Cairo University in 2016 and Arab Board Fellowship in OMFS in 2018.
His interest in oral health and research led him to Australia to pursue a Master of Public Health degree at La Trobe University, which he completed in 2020. Shady passed the Australian Dental Council Exam in early 2021, and was in general practice in Melbourne, until he obtained his Australian Oral Surgery Professional registration in January 2023.
Shady has a passion for helping his patients achieve their best possible smile, with his calming, mild-mannered approach. He enjoys all aspects of oral surgery practice, with a particular focus on surgical extraction of third molars (wisdom teeth), dental implants, bone grafting procedures and temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD).
Outside of work, Shady enjoys spending time with his family, playing soccer, squash, reading and swimming at the beach.
